The Portland chapter of the American Institute of Architects honored the stand-out projects with their annual awards in 2011.

AIA honored the firms in two categories, “Built „and “Unbuilt” including for sustainability award for “The quiet house” designed by Hennebery Eddy Architects. Sam Adams, the mayor of Portland shared his approval for the Tandem Condominium by Works Partnership and selected it for the Mayor’s Award for Design Excellence.

The Design Awards of 2011 were held at the Portland Museum of Art. There were 20 projects that won awards and were carefully selected by Merrill Elam, a principal at Mack Scogin Merrill Elam Architects; Vanessa Kassabian, director of design for Snohetta New York; and Lisa Iwamoto, a partner at IWAMOTOSCOTT Architecture;
