Glass home by Ray Kappe
This beautiful luxurious house is located in Brentwood district of Los Angeles, California. Its creator is architect Ray Kappe from Kappe+Du Architects. The house dates originally from the late 60s but was recently renovated and put on the market in 2009 for nearly 4.5 million dollars. It is a good price for all the fine things this lovely home has to offer.
Open plan living area
The house is surrounded by tall trees and behind them you can clearly see the hilly green landscape as well as the city skyline. Due to the various scenery this house has to offer from every corner it is richly glazed with large windows. Concrete columns and dark timber boarding are also visible on the façade. They emphasize on the windows by giving them clear solid outline.
Modern pool area design
In front of the house there is a small green yard, separated by a glass fence from the pool. Next to it is a narrow stone deck with seats. The pool stands on the edge of the site and it looks as though the water is falling down the slope underneath. The view from here is amazing and it makes one feel connected to the outdoors. Another place in the house where you can relax in the open is the terrace on the upper level. It is made from wooden boards and has a furniture layout for the whole family.
Bedroom interior design
The house is built on three levels. They shelter a total of five bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms and a lot of common living space including a kitchen, dining area, living room, family room and so on. The interior design is very fresh and warm. There are a lot of colors in the furniture and decoration including red, orange, yellow and brown. All that coloring creates an idyllic site when daylight enters the room from the great number of large windows covering the whole facade.
