This exciting design for a minimalistic architecture beach house is by young Turkish architect Gunes Peksen. The ‘Wave House’ is aptly named, firstly, for its intended purpose as a super stylish beach house and secondly because incredibly its structure mimics the action of an ocean wave.
The elegant curvilinear form is easy on the eye and promises a very functional and comfortable living environment designed to promote a relaxed and harmonious lifestyle. Although initially conceived as a coastal home, this innovative structure could be located pretty much any where. Its bold sculptural form would suit a remote rural setting or equally it could be an attractive urban dwelling as long as it has sufficient space in which to be fully appreciated from all angles. Just as contemporary structure can co-exist harmoniously with more traditional or historic buildings so can this fabulous minimalist architecture house.
Although obviously more angular, the unfurling structure of the fabulous ‘Wave House’ is imitative of a rolling breaker. Within its pure white forms the living areas have been cleverly incorporated to link indoor and outdoor living in perfect unity. An inviting tranquil pool completes the connection. The spiraling outer shell of the minimalist architecture beach house wraps protectively around the living spaces. Massive glass walls at either end of the spiral allow light to flood into the interior as well as enabling splendid views of the exterior setting. The interior of the minimalist architecture beach house is a perfect extension of the outer facades. Entered via a sloping ramp at the start of the curve, the interior opens into a peaceful living area. The pure white interior design is enlivened by select items of colorful furniture. The forms of the furniture mimic the shallow, complex angles of the main house architecture. The sculptural characteristics of the white walls are left unadorned with the fabulous views from outside becoming the only ‘decorative element’ on the interior. This is a sublimely beautiful effect and demonstrates minimalist theories at their most fundamental. There is a more private zone tucked away behind plain white screens, although not shown here, one may conjecture that this is where bedrooms and bathrooms may be housed.
Continuing the journey through the wave form of the minimalist architecture beach house, steps at the opposite end of the curving structure lead out and down into the inviting cool waters of the swimming pool.
This is an exciting design concept and it would be hard to imagine that it would be long before someone sees the potential of commissioning the construction of this unique and fabulous home
