This incredibly eco innovative design project called LiYuan Library, created by Li Xiaodong Atelier is situated just two hours away from busy life of Beijing in a village called Huairou. This is something everybody has been longing in their unbelievably frustrated life of constant obligations, business meetings and other “prior engagements”. What could be more innovative than the creation of a beautiful, natural environment, far away from all the frustration, where one could enjoy some peaceful time and read? One of the great things about this stylish, beautiful, eco innovative design is that blends with the surrounding landscape.
Innovative design Library in Beijing by Li Xiaodong Atelier
The village definitely didn’t need a modern urban eco innovative design project. It needed a building that will match perfectly the environment and that’s exactly what this library is. First it is very pragmatic, it’s not built as a colossal extraordinary feature, it’s simply there to make people want to read more. This innovative design project doesn’t interfere with nature unlike the architectures we see in the urban environment.
Eco Innovative Design Library
One of the things an innovative design should have is the use of unfamiliar materials. These designers have chosen something very unconventional. What they did is really extraordinary. They decided to use the locally sourced wooden sticks that they saw piled up in front of every house and create the building in familiar textures. In a way this eco innovative design idea is very touching.
Even though we see many beautiful innovative design ideas, this one is somehow more special to us. We see a great deal of modern solutions and technologies in it and yet it is so simple, the materials are so ordinary thus it completely compliments the village’s unique landscape. The truth is that innovation doesn’t mean completely futuristic and modernistic. This innovative design combines art, nature, practicality and modernistic thought all together. Fantastic!
